Compatibility issue with x99 and Broadwell-E

So I'm going to be building a system with the Asus Sabertooth X99 and an Intel Core i7-6850K
I'm aware that some Intel X99 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Broadwell-E CPUs. Will I be able to perform the BIOS update with the i7-6850K installed?

No problem.
Download the latest version from https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/SABERTOOTH_X99/HelpDesk_Download/
Unzip and rename the file from SABERTOOTH-X99-ASUS-3701.CAP to X99ST.CAP
Save it on a FAT 32 formatted USB drive.
Connect the drive to the Flashback USB port (check the board's manual for its location).
Press the Flashback button for 3 seconds.
Wait until the process completes.
