I recently had a firmware update to the beta bios, or at least thats what I believe it was (stated firmware update). The bios update failed and after a Restart the PC with not post . MOBO LED error codes show " 0d" with the CPU error LED on, on the MOBO, which is not part of the error code list in the manual, or even on the official gigabyte website.

Everything worked fine until the update failed. I had my 3200 corsair ram rated properly as advertised, CPU OC'd to 3.9 from stock 3.6 voltages staying the same at around 1.30v- 1.35v. and my Zotac 1050 OC'd +200 coreclock and +500 memory clock. Everything ran fine from Day 1 no issues unlike what the threads and forum were blasted with. only thing I had issues with was XMP and that didn't bother me much.

I'm not sure you guys handle issues with failed bios update. But I have done everything I can think of,

-I have restarted, no change

-Cleared CMOS and restarted , no change.

-Cleared CMOS and removed CMOS battery no change.

-Cleared CMOS, removed battery and removed power for more than an hour. No change

-Removed all peripheral connections, i.e HDD's DVD/CD, GPU, Fan (barely any attached as this is a caseless PC build. rebooted no change

-Removed RAM and placed in each RAM slot one at a time and tested each stick of RAM.

-Re-seated CPU.

-Removed everything and breadboard tested MOBO, no change to 0d LED status. *No need to remove from case (caseless sysytem) to breadboard as it is basically a breadboard system.

-I cannot post from either main or backup Bios, receives 0d Error Code on both bios

- Tested post attempt with only CPU installed no change.

-Tested with CPU and on stick (switched after no post with first 1/2 of ram move to each ram slot, no change

- Attempted with both sticks in slots 1 and 3 no change, moved to 2 and 4 no change. 0d error code still displays
I have no other MOBO that supports my CPU.

I am at a complete loss on what esle to do other than RMA and use my warranty I purchased at the time of sale with PCOutlet

Either would be fine, but I'd lean towards the MSI(for no particular reason actually). It really boils down to your preference and your location, and other details. In some places, MSI may have better service, in others ASRock may have better service. But if they're all pretty equivalent for you, get the MSI board. Again, no particular reason for that, just personal bias I guess.

If you like the ASRock board more, there's nothing wrong with it as well. But are you sure you want to buy another just for a short period of time, just to get everything working? You could wait for the Gigabyte one to be replaced... Again, completely your call.
You seem to have done everything...if it's not posting and you can somehow make sure that no other component is at fault, then your only choice is to return it. The BIOS update may have failed or may have caused the error, bricking the motherboard. Just make sure the CPU is fine, and if you can confirm the CPU is fine, then return the motherboard.

Yes I believe that the failed bios is the only fault. on Bios F5 I had no issues. Also I tested the PW and GPU on a MOBO i no longer uses they are fine. my current ram is only compatible with my gaming 5 (ram doesn't fit in slots).

@SHEKTRON Is there a way to test my CPU another than placing it in another known good MOBO?

I also decided to grab a cheaper am4 MOBO in the meantime, to at least get my rig functional and test all components, while I RMA the AX370 Gaming5 AM4. Thinking of grabbing one of these just not sure
ASRock - AB350M Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard,
ASRock - AB350M Pro4 Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard, or a
MSI - B350M GAMING PRO Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard
