Put together a new build today but it won't post, power is going into computer with fans and lights all working.

I went through the checklist recommended except for,

step 20: Is your CPU supported by the BIOS revision installed on your motherboard?

How do I check what bios I have if I don't have a post?

I also have not breadboarded the pc but have disconnected everything except for cpu, cpu fan and psu with no change. I also get no beeps with no ram installed from the speaker, which is installed.

Specs:

Ryzen 5 1400
Asus PRIME B350-PLUS
Kingston Hyper X Fury 2666mhz, 2x4GB
EVGA 1060 3GB
Coolermaster G550M PSU
WD Blue 1TB HDD
Sandisk 120GB SSD

Steps taken to troubleshoot:

1. Changed the ram around in different slots and tried without any (no beeps)
2. Disconnected everything except the wires from case, cpu, cpu cooler and psu
3. Checked all wires to see if correctly inserted
4. Cried

Edit: bios version is 1.05, Asus site says mobo is validated since version 0406.

Update: I breadboarded it.. same problem, although I noticed that the fan on the graphics card stops spinning after about 30 seconds.. So I assume I am right to suspect the psu? Also the case fan did not spin for the first time before I breadborded it. The RGB lights on my mobo were also pulsing slowly the last time I had it running and they stayed a solid red colour this time?? Should I just RMA? If so what?

Solution
Not just reseating, really checking the pins under the cpu,if one is bent will that give problems. But if you have a shop nearby that can check with other parts is that also a good option.

I have gone through the steps except I haven't disconnected the case wires, but I have with everything else except cpu and cpu fan. I haven't breadborded it but I really don't want to as It took me ages to set up... I am 99.9% sure that everything is plugged in correctly, I went very slow and followed along with a tutorial video.

your bios version is fine.

try this

cpu into motherboard
cpu cooler -> cable to cpu fan 1

insert the ram

insert the graphisc card

24pin canble to the motherboard
4/8 pin to the cpu
6or 8 pin to the gpu

powercable to the hdd/ssd
powercable from the hdd/ssd to the motherboard.

make sure your put the hdmi cablle into the graphics card to the monitor

make sure you are on the right channel on the monitor.

should work

Did all but same situation.. Could it be something that's DOA?

It hasn't restarted at all, just runs with no picture on screen...

How long did you wait?
And did you hook everything back up? You can't see anything without the gpu in there, and the monitor connected to the gpu and not the motherboard.

It's been like 7 or 8 mins now. hdmi cable is in graphics card and connected to monitor. Monitor flashes between analog and hdmi pics and then goes into standby. Repeats when turned off and on again.

Maybe the ram is not compatible, but should I not still be getting beep codes from my mobo telling me there is no ram installed? When I take it out and try and post without ram the mobo doesn't beep.

Yeah I tried reseating the cpu, its definitely installed correctly. I guess I'll just have to assume one of the parts is DOA and bring it to a shop, so they can use spare parts to identify the problem. I don't know of any way I can isolate the faulty part myself free of charge...

What did you find out? I just put together a Ryzen Build with with a 5 1600, Asus Prime B350 plus MOBO, vengance 3000 mhz 8 GB RAM, and I can't get it to boot up at all. I tested the power supply to make sure it wasn't fault and I got it to work properly but as soon as I plugged the 24 pin connector in all I get is red LED lights on the mother board but no power to the fans. I've removed the RAM and done all that but o get no video

Are you plugging and unplugging while there is power flowing to it? That's how you kill a computer.

Sounds like you got a bad PSU. And with that unit, it's entirely possible that is the case. I'd check that before replacing the motherboard.

It's not the topic starter you respond to so it's not the Cooler master GM in his system. Have no clue what he uses btw since he hasn't told yet.
