im going to buy a new psu, so i was wondering what is the ordinary size of them (in cm)? Dont want be in trouble if it dosent fit.

Solution
Unless you buy a ludicrously high power rating or passively cooled unit, standard ATX PSU sizes are pretty uniform. The rear-facing dimensions are dictated by the ATX opening and PSU mounting holes, all PSUs are the same in that regard. Length can vary a bit but not by much, 14-18cm typical.

Only the forum's system admins get paid. Mods and other users share their knowledge, experience, opinions, etc.

I happen to have an ATX PSU sitting on my desk and that one was 15cm deep but I know there are shorter and longer ones. Most cases have well over 20cm of clearance for the PSU's depth, so it really is only unusual PSUs that can be impossible fits.
