CPU Fan Error on Startup

So I've been away for 4 months and I just got back to find out my gaming PC keeps turning itself off after boot due to instant overheating, and on startup I get an error message that says the CPU fan isn't running at the speed it should. What should I do? I have cleaned out the entire computer of dust, as it was filthy, with compressed air but that doesn't seem to have fixed the problem.

https://gyazo.com/f601df56fee7261f8a4a62cac22c3b41 is the error that I receive.

I have Asus Rampage IV Extreme (which I think is what might be buggered unfortunately.)

Any help will be appreciated!

If the fans not spinning that may be the issue.
It should spin up all the time not just when it gets hot .
Could be just a bad fan .
Check its connected ok and if it is...

How would I go about doing that hah? I'm not exactly very tech savy; taking the graphics card [strike]apart[/strike] out is the only thing I've done before in terms of taking the computer apart.

Its not as difficult as it sounds .
Find a video on you tube and watch how to do it . That will be easier to follow than somebody typing how to do it.
The only thing you should need is some thermal paste . Google the pea method to apply the paste .
Take your time and be careful.
Can you see the cpu fan spinning?

I'll give it a go, I've always been cautious with opening up computers in case I break something and have to replace it hah. And no, it doesn't seem to be spinning at all; I thought maybe it only turns on when the computer gets hot, but idk!

Thanks for the help man I'll give this all a go and see if it fixes it, otherwise I can just replace the fan right? I don't have to replace the hard drive?
