MSI H81M-E34
i would like to upgrade my CPU to something that will be able to support a gtx 1060 And will not decrease the power of my gpu

On the MSI Website it says
Supports 4th Gen Intel® Core™ / Pentium® / Celeron® processors for LGA 1150 socket
So my question here is that the highest i can go is an i7 from the 4th generation?
I cant for example get 5th generation working on this motherboard??

And what would be the best CPU u can recommend me for this motherboard together with a GTX 1060?

Well something like the i7 4790 non k would be a decent upgrade for the money, they go for around $290 new. No haswell i5s I can find for decent price they are all over $200 new, unless you want to look at used parts. Going used might not be a bad idea if you can find an i7 4770 or 4790 for cheap from a reputable seller.

To get a skylake, kaby lake, or ryzen cpu you would need a new mobo and ddr4 ram .

That i3 will do pretty...

What cpu do you currently have? That mobo will support 4th gen haswell and devils canyon processors, the most powerful cpu you can get for gaming on that board is the i7 4790k. But a i5 4690 should be able to fully utilize a 1060 in pretty much any game.

That i3 will do pretty well paired with a 1060 in a lot of games. It may start to bottleneck the 1060 a bit in cpu intensive games, but for 1080p 60hz a 1060 and i3 4160 combo should do pretty well. It might be a good idea to start saving up for a switch to a new platform, maybe coffee lake when it comes out if the i3 can hold you over in the mean time.
