Hello everyone.
I need upgrade from Palit GTS 250 512MB.
I have older PC but it still has horsepowers. Also you can suggest me what else to upgrade for better 1080p experience ( i dont want to upgrade from s775)
I would play games on my 1080p Asus monitor but not on all settings maxed out.
I found some cheap 260x 360 rx460 gtx750ti gtx1050 rx550 but i dont know wich is best balanced choice for my PC.
q6600 (maybe soon some Xeon for 775 or Core 2 Extreme equivalent)
Asus P5KC
5GB DDR2
CM rp 500 pcap 500W PSU
Arctic Cooling Alpine 11
250GB HDD (maybe some SSD or extra HDD)
120mm rear red led fan
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit SP1
MS Voyager (maybe MS Cyclops 2)
Budget for GPU is around 130 usd
Thanks in advance!

Solution
the 260x is slower than rx460

also will use more watts from the psu and make less noise

the rx460 and the gtx 1050ti will make ore sense once you get a faster cpu, which you already plan to do, so there is a upgrade path already in place, proceed and good luck

rx 460 sounds like a start point, forget old gtx 750, the 1050, no, go for the 1050ti, the cpu might not be powerfull enough to push those two to the limits but will deliver decent results on medium at 1080p

get a strong card means that if ypu decide to upgrade cpu later, you can keep the gpu for a newer build

the ram you have, try to make it 8 gbs so yu can play abit more games, 5 gbs sounds like you have many different sizes and types of ram modules, the idea is have a kit or two, 2x2 gbs or 2x4gbs, but since it is ddr2, the problem finding ram kits at decent prices is real
