Basic internet PC build: is a 1GB dedicated graphics card enough for it?

I'm looking into some cheap Internet PC builds for family ( around £500 ) and I read onboard graphics of motherboards are not always the best so a low end dedicated graphics card is worth adding. Is this true and is a 1GB graphics card enough for basic internet use, streaming, you tube etc. ( No gaming ).

For any recent CPU, the integrated graphics is probably better than any 1GB dedicated GPU you can find now.

I wouldn't use a dedicated gpu at all in a general use pc that will be mainly browsing the net. As said above many of the low end cards barely outperform the integrated graphics of modern cpu's.

For instance...my wife's system.
Pentium G840, no dedicated GPU.
Runs that exact same use pattern just fine.
