I have a Ryzen 1600x processor and I knew that getting the RAM speeds up to where they're supposed to be was hit or miss until the new bios updates came out, the AEGA or whatever it's called.
Well, my particular motherboard was updated literally just yesterday and I installed it. I have 3000 MHZ G.Skillz Ripjaws 8gb memory sticks, 2 of them total. The motherboard has 4 slots for it, I have them in A2 and B2 slots, which I believe are the right places to put them. I know I won't get exactly 3000 Mhz, but 2933 is close enough, but even after the update it's still defaulting to running the RAM at 2133 or so.
Before the update, loading the XMP profile just wouldn't work. But after the update, the XMP options have seemed to increase and change, and at first it seemed like it would work. I loaded XMP, set the RAM speed to be 3000 and saved and restarted. I immediately went back into BIOS and saw that it was telling me that my RAM was indeed at 2933 MHZ, so I was really happy for a minute.
I saved and let it restart again, and then it restarted twice and now my RAM is back down to 2133.
