even if its not supported they should leave old downloads there that's like nvidia allowing you to get drivers for a 750ti or something

they don't need to provide new updates. just keep the old download available. its not like its taking up server space or bandwidth to keep it available.

i run win 10 on my x99 but i still gotta keep the old dino running because old games don't run on the new systems and vm doesnt really work well tends to have a lot of bugs

And it is a business decision to prompt people to move off old operating systems.
Same reason you can't buy a new XP (or Vista) license direct from MS.
$$$. Just like any other business.
And also...negative user experience:

yea i was using virtual box. some games works fine but i got a lot of problems with ether frame rate, crashing and other stuff. and yea ppl should upgrade there is a huge difference and power savings. but if you have something just for a specific software or game they should be fine to keep it going... old games were also set to the clock speed of the cpu

SP3 was released in 2008 and there have been a LOT of updates since, especially if you intend to use the XP-embedded POSReady 2009 updates since end of XP support in 2014.
This fellow from Greece has maintained the unofficial SP4 since 2014. If you trust him enough (for a gaming system), it makes getting an XP system as up-to-date as possible a snap. Particularly as you can slipstream the SP4 right into the XP .iso before starting installation
