Are MSI motherboards good?

Am building a pc for the first time (i5 6600 and 1060 3gb) and i am really struggling with motherboards. Are msi motherboards good, I've heard that msi systems have a ton of popup windows when using your pc. Is it the motherboard that pops up the windows? What motherboard do you recommend for a non-overclockable system? (H110,1151,skylake, any size)

they are ok mobos but asus is better. msi are mid quality. if i were you id invest in a asus mobo.

I've had 4 MSI mobo's explode on me on various builds that I worked with and so I stay clear of them.

Lol actually no, I didn't OC them or anything. But this was an old chipset (i7 950k). One exploded because I upgraded the ram (and I ensured it was compatible) but then one day the mobo just died. The next one the Sata port literally..popped off..out of no where. No idea what happened. Started having issues with my other Sata cables later on.
I mean I've spilled Whiskey and Soda on it and it was fine for a long long time. I went through 3 motherboards before I decided to just get AMD as my mobo costed a lot of money.
I never overclocked as I saw no need to. I've also seen a bunch of MSI boards randomly do this as well from people who also didn't do much but basic stuff. Been using the same 970 mobo for 3 years now without anything exploding xD and I actually OC the shiz out of this one.

I am VERY happy with my X370 MSI motherboard, it is pure quality man and the updates for bios etc has been going good, so i am very happy
