Hello... So today my Wifi connection seems to have suddenly stopped working. Both my desktop and laptop show "No internet access" and troubleshooting says the "DNS Server is not available" when connected to the network. All of my other devices also have no internet access. I connected my laptop directly to the modem through ethernet, and it did have internet access. However, when I tried connecting the laptop to the router instead, the same message popped up. I don't think it's a problem with the router, since I tried connecting another one I had lying around, and the same exact message was shown. Both computers have Windows 10. Thanks in advance.

Welp:

Your setup which works is:

Internet <-> Cable modem <-> Computer.

Setup which doesn't work:

Internet <-> Cable Modem <-> Router <-> Computer.

Try this - using the setup that DOESN'T work:

Open up a command box (start -> type in CMD and hit enter) then try pinging the google DNS server by typing:

PING 8.8.8.8 (then hit enter)

If you cannot get a valid return from pinging 8.8.8.8 - then you most likely have a physical problem somewhere (bad cable maybe?) as pinging 8.8.8.8 directly bypasses the DNS problem and reaches out directly to the internet to a specific IP address. If you do get a return from the internet, then it's not a physical problem and most likely something being misconfigured.

Also - lastly, have you...

Also - lastly, have you rebooted your cable modem? As in unplug it for at least 30 seconds, then plug back in...

Ok it seems it was a physical problem in the end. Replacing the cable worked. Thanks.
