Hello, I have this system

Intel i7 3770 CPU
H61H2-AM3 Motherboard
Nvidia gt 620 GPU

I am upgrading to a Nvidia GTX 560. However it does not work with my current system (Something about the UEFI BIOS may not support legacy graphics cards). So i am going to buy a new motherboard.

I am on a budget currently and am wondering if i could still use the same CPU in another motherboard and have the graphics card work, or is it the CPU itself that wont support it ?

Thanks!

Solution
Were did you read about that (or you tested it yourself)? It gives an error message? Maybe you need to select the discrete GPU instead of the igpu in the cpu as output device.
Since gtx 560 is technically even older than the gt 620, driver support will be worse but the motherboard UEFI should not influence the GPU you can use (If it has the capable PCI-e slot (even if it's PCI-e 2.0 it.s fine). I suggest you look into recent GPUs if you intend to do gaming since thee gtx 560 is old and obsolete and you would not be able to run modern games with it. I suggest you to save to get a decent GPU at least around 150USD (even used is fine).

P.S. Update Motherboard to the latest BIOS and try again.

I...am surprised that gtx560 isn't working with that motherboard. Is there any way to update your bios? Like if it came as a part of an acer pre-built system, maybe the support for that system has newer bios included on acer site?
