CPU & RAM & Motherboard Compatibility

I have an intel i7 7700K CPU that supports 64GB of RAM in DUAL CHANNEL configuration, however, I have a motherboard that has 8 memory slots and is QUAD CHANNEL CONFIGURED. I have 32GB of RAM in 4 memory sticks (4x8GB) that is running in dual channel. Will my config work out without any problem?

  1. Are you saying you have an old motherboard with 4 RAM sticks of 32GB and want to know if that RAM will work on a new 200 series 1151 motherboard? Is so it depends if the RAM is DDR3 or DDR4. The 2011 x79's used DDR3 which will not work with kabylake. If its the new 2011v3 x99's tho those use DDR4 and will work.

DDR4 is compatible with the 7700K. This said the x99 motherboard doesnt support the 7700K 1151 pin. It supports the 6800K for the 2011-v3. Here is the CPU support list for the motherboard.
