I recently (today) upgraded from a 8320 to a i5 7600k with a new motherboard (z170x gaming 5).
At first It didnt turn on then I realized I forgot plug in the 8 pin cpu power (Ha).
So I plugged that in and now im in the clear. Right? Wrong.
It boots up for ~20 seconds (no monitor action, just fans and leds) and then makes 5 long beeps before turning off and on again.

Things I have tried:

Turning it off and on again.
Taking out the cpu power and putting it back in.
Taking out the graphics card and booting it up.
Taking out the cpu and putting it back in (I was checking the pins, they are all good).

Taking out the ram and putting it in a certain way (on a reddit thread it said you had to put it in a certain way otherwise it would be uneven.)

So I'm lost. Im going to sleep. Ill be back in 10 hours. Thanks for your help guys (if anyone sees this).

Solution
The board might need a BIOS update for supporting the Kaby. Options: returning the board, and buying instead a Z270 one, or installing a supported CPU and updating the board's BIOS. A local pc repair shop might also help.
