Hi guys! I have an MSI Z170A Gaming Pro and I need more storage.
Currently I have plugged in the SATAe Connector (the MoBo manual says Satae for the small one on the left and Sata1 and Sata2 for the other normal two just next to it on the right side) the SSD and the secondary HDD. Then of the other 4 Sata Connectors (called Sata 6 gb/s connector as whole and respectively Sata 3,4,5,6 on the manual) I use only the number 3 and 4 respectively for the tertiary HDD (small old 120 GB HDD that I use mainly to just download and store temporary files) and for the Optical Drive (DVD-RW). I plan to don't use the Sata Ports 5 and 6 and eventually use the M.2 one in the future (which however you can't use simultaneously with Ports 5 and 6 according to the manual). I would like to remove the 120 GB HDD from Sata 3 and put an other 3 TB (a WD Blue SSHD similar to the WB Blue that I currently use as secondary one) and eventually use an other disk with the last small Satae on near Sata1 and Sata2. I might also keep the 120 GB for temporary storage like now. I would like to avoid to use Sata 5 and Sata 6 ports also because they are just under the GPU fan, too close to it.
I would like to know which might me the best solution for my "plans".
Thank you in advance :)

you want just storage plug in to the stata 3 ports unless you wanna transfer files really quick & wanna use the new hard drive as more than storage. I ended up using a ssd on my stepsons build as stata 1 primary & a hhd as storage on stata2 with the premissions set correctly as i use the hhd as data for games & ssd for mainly OS duties & a few games which are sluggish. Tho primarily i try use the main stata 1 &2 ports for the fastest transfer speeds & less issues bios wise to as seting up which hard drive to boot from as can get annoying if you plug them in the wrong order

Yes I don't want to change the Sata1 and Sata2 ports being for the main SSD (OS) and the Secondary HDD (Games and Programs). I am not picky about speed unless is something really noticeable. Just want to add usable storage.
Can I use the last small Satae Port on the Sata Express Connector simultaneously with Sata1 and Sata2 Ports? If yes I might plug the new SSHD to Sata3 and plug the old 120GB HDD to Satae (or the opposite).
