Due to an unexpected tax return and some other factors, I am able to finally ascend and build a custom built system mainly focused around playing games. I already have a macbook pro provided by my work so I don't require any parts focused around editing or modeling, just gaming.
My budget is $2000 USD and I honestly have nowhere to start. If somebody could get me a parts list going that would be great.
The things that I need:
A computer
A monitor
A Keyboard
A Mouse
A Headset (If not I can get a $40 modmic and put it on my current headphones)
Hopefully some good speakers

The only thing I have is a desk and a chair so if theres anything I missed please say.

Edit: I already have a USB wifi adapter from my old laptop so if the mainboard doesn't include internet thats fine.

-Thanks

Here's something to start with. I didn't include a monitor because there are others on here that know a lot more about them than me.

Thanks for the answer, but I have a few questions.
1: Since you put a $700 Graphics card, I'll probably want to get a decent high-res monitor with a high refresh rate. I'm pretty sure thats going to cost over $300.
2. I know its only $35, but will going down to a $100 ram kit @2400mhz really be much slower than the one you suggested?

Thanks for the response, will a 1600 and a 1080ti bottleneck?

Nope, no bottleneck whatsoever. You can also OC that cpu for even better performance.

Yeah you're right I should have left more for the monitor. I wasn't sure what resolution you wanted to play at that's why I included such an expensive gpu. It was just a list to give you something to mess around with and change based on what you like and what suggestions are made.
