Hello TH - i need som help here. i recently bought a 7700k and is runs at almost 1.3v on stock and 4.5 - is that not too high?
Temps are:
idle: 25-50
Under load (games): 55-70 - mostly 60-65 ish.
under stress test: 80 max.

So is that to high temps? should i down the voltage? or maybe better, can i get a decent overclock on 1.3V? like without having to add more power to my vcore?
Thx in advance.

74c is about right

yes you can just move the multiplier up

should do 4.6ghz on that voltage

possibly 4.7ghz since your default voltage is higher than mine by a fair bit

dont forget prime95 puts much more stress on it than most real life use will so your temps should be a bit lower when you are just doing what you normally do

If you're already at 80c under 100% stress at stock, then you need to look for a different cooling solution. From the many articles I've read, 1.4v and below is fine for 24/7 operation as long as temps are staying at 80c or below.

what are you stress testing it with?

if its prime95 you shouldnt use a version after 26.6

as the avx instructions will give a higher temperature

Maybe since i have the nzxt h440 case - and the radiator in the top - wich takes heat from my gpu and has a hard time getting air out - chould that be why?
BTW can i increase clock ratio, without increasing any power?

Yes i use prime - idk what version - and what do you mean? :O

you need to use version 26.6 of prime95--not the later ones think its at around 28.10 now

and run the small ffts test

You are right - max temp on stress test is now 74 - is that good or bad?
And is there then anyway i can overclock it with the current voltage?
