Dead motherboard/Bios issue?

So recently I tried to put together a computer from old parts I had lying around at home for my brother. It includes an FX4350, biostar TA970, a gts galaxy 400 series, and 4gb of HyperX blue ram. When first using it, there were some stability issues (ex: gpu and cpu under load, the pc reboots), which was fixed by a power supply upgrade to an EVGA 500W. However, we are now getting no video output. Having tried both my personal 960 2gb, and the galaxy card, I come to the conclusion that it may be the motherboard or psu. There is no "no video input detected" message on the screen, it's just black. Could it be the card isn't getting enough power to display an image, or the motherboard is dead somehow?

Did you test the monitor on something else to make sure it didn't go bad?
You could try 'borrowing' (buy with intention to return) a beefy power supply from the store to see if that fixes the issue. Do you get any beep codes? Tried resetting the BIOS?

I didn't get any boot beeps whatsoever, but I also don't think the case speakers or mobo speakers are connected and/or working. I did take out the CMOS battery, still the same result. I could try another power supply (maybe from my personal rig.). Also, would it be viable to test the card out in another pc?

I'll give that a shot, possibly with the power supply from my personal rig, though I spent a hefty amount of time with the wiring on it. It doesn't even post, along with me discovering that the northbridge heatsink is very loose and wiggly.
