Hi all, this will be the first time upgrading my first pc build from just over a year ago. I'm still pretty new and honestly don't understand a lot of information, just looking for some helpful insight.
I'm looking at upgrading my graphics card to a GTX 1050ti or 1060, and increasing my RAM from 8gb to 16gb but just want to double check my other components are compatible. Or if there would be any other recommendations to upgrade. These are my parts at the moment -

Processor: AMD A8-7600 Quad Core 3.1GHz (Max 3.8GHz) AMD R7 APU Series Graphics

RAM / Memory: 8GB DDR III 1600Mhz

Motherboard: Asus A68 Chipset Motherboard - 2 x DDR3, USB3.0 mATX

Graphics Card: 2GB Nvidia GTX950

Power supply: PowerHouse 550w 4x SATA / 2x HDD

Solution
Not sure which motherboard you have but I think we can work here as there are only three A68 mobos from ASUS and they are relatively the same. All these mobos support up to 32GB of RAM on two slots. Not sure if you have one or two sticks of RAM.

Your PSU should have enough power but I suspect that it is not a good one, I can't really find any information on this model or brand.

With that APU I would only be getting a GTX 1050 Ti but the 1050 Ti is not much of an improvement over the GTX 950 (one tier)

You would see a significant improvement in GPU performance with a GTX 1060-3GB but you would need to upgrade your APU to the Athlon X4 880K to minimize the CPU bottlenecking. I would do this before upgrading the amount of RAM in the system.

Thanks heaps for the reply! sorry about my late reply first time using this website. I took your advice on upgrading my APU first although my GPU and RAM is arriving before my APU (ordered a athlon x4 860k) but no one in Australia supplies them anymore so I have to wait 1-2weeks for it to arrive. I have noticed a decent increase in performance just from the gtx 1060 6b and 16gb extra ram. But hopefully the new processor bumps it up a lot more.

But i have a question, why would you recommend a Athlon x4 860/880k? Most reviews I have seen puts the AMD A8-7600 much higher than both of those and even higher than i5's. Not trying to be rude im genuinely curious. New to the whole computer building/upgrading thing so any knowledge you would be willing to pass on will be very appreciated!

Thanks again for you help mate :)
