Sounds like you need to Clear the Cmos in order for the motherboard to rescan the memory modules.
If you still do not get use of all ram then start testing single modules to tell if they are all good, if all test good then test each slot.
If these all test good then you are looking at incompatibility between modules.

if you have gpu and intel ipgpu on yopur going to lose some system ram for video. if you dont have a gpu and are using an ipgpu check in the bios for video ram used. that the amount of system ram your going to lose if it on.
