Have what appears to be a suspect motherboard so would like to replace the Asus P7P55D-E board with something that would connect up with all the plugs the same, has anyone a suggestion?

Solution
For that old lga1156 MB, if you can't find the one you want, one option will be upgrading the whole new PC, other option will be that to get whatever you can find. Sorry.

That means you have to buy the used lga1156 MB from ebay or amazon, or from your friend, or try the pcpartpicker.com for the new one.

Thanks but I am a bit wary of older used boards,a later board,CPU & Ram would be fine if it was of comparative configuration, also I have looked and decent similar 1156 boards are not so easy to locate.
