Ram Channel, 4x8gb sticks or only 2x8gb?

I am building a computer and using the motherboard PRIME Z270-p on the website (https://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/PRIME-Z270-P/specifications/) it says it supports a max of 64GB 4 x DIMM DDR4 at various speeds. Underneath that it says it has a dual channel memory architecture. I am not sure what this means, is someone able to help explain it to me. My main question is: Am I able to use 4 x 8GB ddr4 sticks at 3000mhz with it running smoothly or do I have to stick with only 2 x 8GB sticks?

I am looking at buying this kit: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CMK8GX4M2B3000C15-Vengeance-3000Mhz-Performance/dp/B0123ZBPDA/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1497336259&sr=1-1&keywords=8gb+ddr4+3000
or this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CMK16GX4M2B3000C15-Vengeance-Performance-Desktop/dp/B0134EW7G8/ref=sr_1_3?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1497336259&sr=1-3&keywords=8gb+ddr4+3000

Solution
If it supports up to 4 sticks in dual-channel, then it means you can use all the slots for 4 x 8gb ddr4, no problem. To work in dual channel, they need to be paired 1 with 3 and 2 with 4 (slots are color coded). Since all the sticks will be identical, it doesn't matter. There will be 2 channel sets working, each set having 16gb ram.

Hi,
most mainstream platforms, such as intel's 115x or amd's am4/3/2/1 will only support dual channel memory. This results in a maximum of 4 slots. Ram is largely very intuitive, so if you want to run 4 sticks, and the motherboard has 4 slots, it will work (provided they are not 32gb sticks, as this motherboard, as you mentioned, has a maximum 64gb ram). My main question is, why do you need 32gb ram?
