Hi everyone, this is my first post for a problem I've had for a while and not been able to fix or find a solution to in forums.
I have a windows 10 pc with the OS installed on an SSD which runs fine. I also have a much larger HDD which I use to store media files and games etc.

The HDD runs fine, I can copy a 2Gb file from it to the SSD at ~100 Mb/s. However after a few days it slows down dramatically to ~2 Mb/s and i think its slower when I try to open sth. If I format my HDD it works well at ~100 Mb/s for another few days. Then it slows back down again. I repeated formatting but it always slows down after a few days. so far I tried updating all of my drivers(even graphics) and bios(no impact), changing the SATA cable and port(no impact), checking my HDD with HD tune and windows default tool( nothing detected), using my HDD on another MB with same OS(works fine).
I found other threads that have same problem but no fixes.
My PC specs are as follows:

-CPU: i5 6500
-Memory: 16GB DDR4
-Motherboard: asus Z170A
-Graphics: 8GB MSI NVIDIA GTX 1070
-SSD: 120GB WD
-Hard Drive: 500GB Western Digital blue WDC WD5000AAKS-22V1A0

it was on 16 hours a day. (it happened 3 days after i formatted the HDD... slowing didn't happen after a restart, it was fine for a moment and after that write and read speed dropped)
I used WD diagnostics tool and it didn't find any problems.
I'm not sure problem is my HDD or MB because nearly everyone who posted this problem had similar MB with SSD+HDD
(only one person had different MB with same problem and he had a MSI Z170A GAMING M7)

I know this won't help, but I have been frantically searching Google everywhere for an answer and I have the same issue. Like you said, same mobo and same HDD. I had it work really great for like 8 months when I plugged it into the slot underneath the SSD "OS Drive" SATA port, but besides that, same issue. It's really driving me insane!! Did you ever find a solution?
