Hello everyone!
New AC buyer here. Can any experienced air conditioner user tell me which one is the better, reliable AC from these two?

Haier HWE08XCR-L
smile.amazon.com/Haier-HWE08XCR-8000-Efficiency-Conditioner/dp/B017UCE70O
Frigidaire FGRC0844S1
smile.amazon.com/Frigidaire-Smart-Window-Conditioner-Amazon/dp/B01B5CIBES

They both are 8000BTU. I want a AC that will cool faster with less noise and take less power preferably. And hopefully will work for a few years reliably.
Anything else I need to know before buying? Does the air-flow panel position matter?

Thank You and Stay Cool!

Solution
Used to be an appliance guy, did lots of Frigidaire ACs(in fact I can't think of an instance where it wasn't a frigidaire). Used a Haier DE-humidifier(had no complaints). I will tell you this, I'd buy the Frigidaire, if it was me. Has a nice install kit(lots of foam insulation) and more importantly, I know they come with a nice remote and some nice features regarding energy efficiency(has a mode that basically acts like a thermostat, so if it cools down at night, it won't run much, you set the temp and the machine will try to keep the temp there, if the temp is below your desired, it won't run at all, and if it's above, it'll run till it gets to your temp).
In regards to life, clean the filter regularly(like monthly at least)...

In regards to life, clean the filter regularly(like monthly at least), never run it if it hasn't been sitting in the same position it sits in your window for a while(at least 8 hours), this is mostly about when you first install in the spring/summer. Keep your paperwork for the warranty info. Don't buy too small of a unit. If you're trying to cool a big space with too small a unit, it won't happen, it'll run non-stop and still be stuffy. Better to have too much AC, than not enough, with the temp matching feature, too much AC will merely run less. And lastly, make sure you get the model with the right plug. Can't tell you how many times someone got the wrong plug
P.S. it really helps air mixing and comfort levels, if you have a ceiling fan or two as well.

You may want to look at a portable unit like this one. It is 10,000 BTU and does a decent job of cooling a 400 square foot room. (I just turned it on, so it is still cooling the room which got hot overnight due to the electronics I have in it). Much easier to install than a window unit. Bought it from Walmart.com and bought the 3 year warranty. It is just over 1 year old now. 3 fan speeds, remote control, no need to drain the condensate as it is used to cool the compressor, so it evaporates (unless you are using de-humidify only mode, in which case you have to connect a drain hose to the back). Normal cooling mode I have never had to drain the condensate, even with temps nearing 100F and high humidity (Texas Gulf Coast).
