My laptop hard drive stopped booting yesterday. I tried to run it on safe mode and it's still not working. It basically shows the windows 7 loading screen then it shows me a blue screen that stays on for half a second and restarts to do the whole thing over and over again. Because I have very important work data on this device, I thought I could connect it to my PC and transfer the data there before replacing the windows on it.

When I tried connecting it to my PC and choosing my PC's hard drive on the boot options, it shows the windows 10 logo then the screen goes black and stays this way for as long as the device is running. So the windows doesn't boot. When I choose my laptop hard drive on the boot menu, I get the same problem I have with the laptop. I tried using a different SATA cable and it didn't make a difference.

How can I solve this problem?

What I would do is try to find an external SATA Drive Enclosure. Put the Laptop HDD in that and boot your PC. Once the PC is booted; plug in the external drive and see if you can even access it.

If you don't have access to said enclosure; you can always plug the SATA cable in whilst the PC is running. Just make sure that the laptop HDD is connected to the power BEFORE turning on the PC.
