Hi,
I'm looking into getting a new PSU, and the one i'm thinking of states it's; 'Haswell ready'.
I had assumed that any PSU would work with any CPU..
I'm thinking of upgrading my CPU at some point, i currently have a i7-4790k.. I just don't want to invest in a PSU that might become redundant when i upgrade my CPU.

cheers,
J

No, Haswell a couple of Generations old (Devils Canyon/Haswell Refresh then Skylake and KabyLake followed)

Haswell was the last revision that changes any power management settings, warranting a change in how PSUs needed to react.

Haswell-ready is still all you need, provided the quality of the PSU itself checks out.
