Hello, I am fixing my friend's PC right now. There is a problem with the graphics card, and i cant put my finger on it. It is a ASUS DirectCU II AMD R9 290. When I start the PC with the graphics card in it, A line appears on the screen (going down, about 1 inch thick, some areas red, some green). And Windows does not recognize it. So, i took it apart. I do not see ANY damage to it. Anyone know what is happening?

P:S : I also remember hearing something about throwing it in an oven, my brother did it before for a laptop, and it worked. Will it do the same for a graphics card?

Thank you for your time! Have a good day! :)

Solution
could be software problem like the driver, or a broken graphics card component or other problems. baking technique might work, but if the card still have active warranty, i suggest you to take it to the service center, but if its not then baking might the option or if ur friend want to spend some money for new card. remember to only put the pcb to the oven and put something to not bake some part like some chip. also note that after baking an electronic stuff, it is not safe to use it again as for like baking food, etc
