I built my gaming pc roughly a year ago and it has an A8 7600 with 8GBs of RAM and an R7 370. It was fine for the games I played then but now that I've recently gotten GTA V I feel like the cpu is holding the system back. And I've recently gotten an Acer veriton with a pentium G630 for free (school's old pcs that they were throwing away)

So I was hoping that I could take the motherboard from the acer and put it in my system with an i5 2400, which are going for about 60-80 NZD used right now. I have 2 things I am uncertain with though.

1. Is it worth the $60 to upgrade to the i5, and would it be relatively hassle free.

2. Is the motherboard compatible with the i5 3470? I know they have the same socket but I don't know if motherboard supports it and I can't find any information about any BIOS updates that would.

Any help would would be appreciated!

You also need to consider the added expense of a graphics card when going to intel. The AMD APU's have a better gaming GPU built in (usually) then Intel, so this would so increase your budget.
