I currently have a 7200 rpm hard drive with 1TB, I'm also low on the budget and I can't really get an ssd with 1TB but is a Solid State Hard Drive better? They seem to be pretty cheap and has a larger capacity, they are also faster than hard drive because they are a mix of hdd and ssd. So are SSHD's a direct upgrade from the 7.2k rpm Hard drive but cheaper?

Solution
No, they are a lot faster on cached content, but that'll only be regularly used data, they can't predict stuff that you've not used before.

They'll be slower than a fast HDD on non cached data (some may only be 5400rpm)

They don't (or didn't last time I looked) have the full range of HDD sizes.

By having an SSD and a HDD you'll be in a better position to move your installation or your data to a bigger/faster drive if needed. By having them both on one you'll need to carefully partition to make moving easier.

Get a good SSD and use your 1tb drive for bigger stuff like movies and games.

But are SSHD's superior in every single way (maybe except for price) compared to hard drive, are they faster and have a higher capacity?
