My motherboard states I have 2x 3.0 x16 PCI slots however I am having trouble adding the second one.

Mobo: Asrock B150m Pro4/Hyper: http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/B150M%20Pro4Hyper/

Case: Bravotech Defy B40: http://imgur.com/a/uUCd8

Picture of my mobo/gpu: http://imgur.com/a/erPPG

The GPU in the picture my 1070 and I am trying to add a second GPU(1060) into the remaining 3.0 x16 slot. However when trying to line up the graphics card with the backplate of the case, PCI Express x16 3.0 on the GPU lines up with the regular PCI slot.

Any help would be appreciated!

And that is your problem. Your case is only big enough for 4 PCI slots. Second x16 slot is at 4th position, but since card itself takes two slots, you would need case that has 5 PCI slots, not 4 like yours. Your only solutions are: get a new, bigger case or use PCIe riser to put that GPU elsewhere.
Well, first things first, why are you trying to add a 1060 to the mix? You can't SLI them, so your only real option is to use the 1060 as a physx card, but the 1070 probably does better at physx and not all games use that anyway. You're probably better off selling it.

That said, the MSI 1070 is only a two-slot card. you should be able to fit anything into the PCIe lanes below the 1070 as long as that thing isn't immediately below the PCIe slot your 1070 is in.

I am trying to add a second graphics card to mine cryptocurrency using both cards.

If I try to line the 1060 into the second PCIe slot, there is not enough space within the case.

This is the answer I have been looking for. Thanks for your help!

PCIe risers are expensive in Korea and for just a little more I can get a case that has 5 PCI slots that also has 4 fans which is a bonus compared to my current case that only has 1 fan. Thanks again!
