Hey,
My new rig is going to be this:
Case: Fractal design R5
GPU: MSI 980ti
CPU: i7-4790k
CPU cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212
Motherboard: SABERTOOTH Z97 MARK 2
PSU: EVGA SuperNova 850 W P2 -or- Seasonic SS-520FL2 520W Fanless
HDD: WD Red 3tb
SSD: Crucial M550 512GB

I plan on replacing the stock fans with Noctua - NF-A14 ULN 140mm Fans
My main aim is to have a quiet rig, i can't stand computer noise..

What would be the benefits of adding water cooling to this setup?
The description says it can; house radiators up to 420mm in the top and 360mm in the front.
Would these be to cool down the entire rig - and would they make the computer louder or quieter on the whole?

Thankyou,
RB

The R5 fans are already quite. The quiter fans have lower CFM.
Adding a water cooler will increase the noise.
I would change the Hyper 212 to a Cryorig H5 or R1.
Use the stock R5 fans and you will see how good they are you need to add one more of the FD 140mm fans to the front of the case and remove the center drive cage for good cooling.

Thanks Zerk2012,
So i just need the R5 case and one additional R5 stock fan to be good to go?
I'll look into the Cryorig H5 and R1, i don't think the Hyper 212 has been doing so well.

The FD fans are very good their about all I recomend.
I use the R1 cooler with my 4790K it's a very good cooler.
The 980ti will be the loudest thing in the PC when the fans ramp up.
I would get the EVGA PSU with that much overkill it should also be quite.

Performance wise no big difference. Nose can be decreased depends on how far you push your CPU and GPU. At meaningful settings it will be less noisy but when pushed to limit it can become bit noisy. When at idle definitely silent. Cost a lot. At this point you can spend it to upgrade hardware.
