Go to the motherboard provider website find the model it will be somewhere on that page. The old saying goes...if it ain't broke don't fix it. That especially goes for older computer setups.

What is the exact make and model of the motherboard. Even if someone here can find a newer bios that does not mean that is the solution. Could be memory, the cpu, powersupply, video card, harddrive, or just a fried mb. Anyway manufacture and model# of the motherboard and bios currently on it. and I will see what I can do to find an update.
Hi there thank you for helping, I have upgraded from the i3 560 but since I put the i7 CPU in it got BSODs. The motherboard is the Intel DQ57TM farely common I see it in almost 95% of 1156 videos lol

Click on compatibility, then supported processors. It seems the 870 is not compatible with that motherboard. At least that is what it is showing me. I did notice a fairly recent chipset update. Perhaps that may help. It also is on that page.
