optane is just old tech coming back with a new name. its basically making an M.2 slot a cache drive. my I5 3570K build had the same kind of feature and that was back in 2012

Yes, exactly like what SSD's were 6-7 years ago.
16-32GB drive to cache data for the HDD.

And for an SSHD? A cache for the cache for the HDD.

Just get a regular SSD.

If the I3D Xpoint Intel Optane was 50% cheaper than i would of went for Intel Optane also.
