So i ve already bought a 6GB Gigabyte gtx 1060 Xtreme Gaming a month ago and i am thinking of combining it with a i3-7100 because of my budget... i ve seen in threads that 1060 with an i3 is not that much of an issue.. when i checked the price list of graphics card from my seller again recently i saw they have the aorus RX 580 4gb new in stock and when i asked for a exchange for my current graphics card they said it is possible. So i was thinking of returning my 1060 for a rx 580 and from the extra money i get i can get a i5-7400 instead of an i3. So whats better i5 with a rx 580 or an i3 with a 1060. I know 1060 is better than the rx 580 but with the change in processors i can't do the math so help me. Thank You.

I had been given to understand that the RX580 and 1060 are about neck and neck with each other. RX580 was given the advantage in terms of price for around the same performance as the 1060 (sometimes a little ahead, sometimes a little behind).

It's the shortage of the AMD cards that has made the 1060 the more appealing option.

HOWEVER, the RX580 is more power hungry.
