I had an issue with my other pc where if I were to leave it turned off and unplugged for a while, the pc will turn on and off repeatedly until I remove the ram and reinstall it.i have no idea whats casuing it tho.heres a video of what it looks like https://vimeo.com/221697728

as you can see led flashes to dram then led then back to dram and turns off.and the cycle repeats itself(sorry for the poor quality)
does anyone happen to know whats causing this?i searched forums and couldn't find a straight answer to it.assistance is apreciated

One cheap thing to do is replace the motherboard battery so it will keep the cmos settings when you take the pc of the power.I don't think it should wear out so quickly but who knows.

Other thing is that there's a pretty recent new bios so update/flash the bios to the latest version.

Put the unpacked file (it comes as a zip file) on an empty usb stick, put that in the pc,start and go into the bios, find the flash tool (probably can be started by an "F" key) and follow the steps.Let it be until finished!
Chances are it's either your RAM or your power supply. I had a similar issue recently, and getting the PSU replaced finally fixed it, after changing the RAM. Don't try turning on your system again until you've got a new power supply, because this issue may damage other components, as it did mine. If after replacing the PSU the issue isn't fixed, then some component probably got damaged due to the issue. My first step would be to get the RAM replaced, and if it still persists, the motherboard would be the last resort.

Just start with the PSU, and we'll move from there.

I feel like is less likely could be the psu as its pretty new.its an corsair rm 650x that I got this year.and the only way to get this thing to boot is if I remove and reseat the ram.

Even though that's an excellent PSU, there's still always a chance of receiving a dead/defective product... If you're still pretty sure, then it could be the RAM. When you have re-seated the RAM and the computer boots up, run Memtest at least for two hours or so.

hi.so ive ran it for 4 hours and I found no errors whatsoever.strange, however I could try reinstalling bios.i remember when I was installing the latest bios.the pc screen went blank and I had to restart the pc acouple of times until the pc booted.so possibly this could this boot loop that I'm currently having could be related to bios?

It could be, but it seems a bit unlikely. But, sure, if you can, then do that as well.

If it still does that, your only option really is returning the motherboard - it's the only thing left that could be defective - the CPU won't cause such problems, neither would the GPU. The only thing left is the motherboard, and there's no self-fixing that.

yes ive just updated it to the recent bios today.so I'm going to try and re replicate the problem buy leaving the pc unplugged from the wall for 3 days.if the pc boots up after 3 days then mission accomplished.but if it starts turning on and off again.then ill either rma the board or the psu.
