My 144hz Monitor won't allow me to run it in 144hz. Only allows 60hz.

I checked the windows settings on my PC and it doesnt even give me an option to run at 144hz. I am running DVI so thats not the problem. When i go to my monitor settings it says the output is 120hz but the input is 60hz. someone please help <3

I had this issue. I reset cable and rebooted for the one time it happened. Another time it was due to using ULMB mode on the display settings. Also, I am pretty sure it has to be DVI-D to run over 60Hz.
