WiFi connected but no Internet access.

An Android phone (HM NOTE 1W). Mini Router HX701.
It is already connected to Wi-Fi, but I can't access the Internet.
Can anyone help?

My friend gave me the router yesterday. Today I have used it for the first time. I have only one device, the phone, that can be connected to Wi-Fi. There is no 'reboot' button on the router, so I could just power it down and up again. I have not made any changes.

For your cable modem, are all the lights working just fine?

I cannot access the Internet whether the modem is connected to the 'LAN' port or the 'WAN' port of the router.
I did not have a router before. Yesterday, at my friend's home, I could access the Internet on the same phone via a different router.
