After installing RAM, computer won't offer a display nor access HDD, nor give any indication re. POSTing

I've tried adding another 4gb of Hyper X DDR3 to my MSI A88X-G43 MOBO (Previously had just 1 stick of the same make and model, bought about a year apart) and as described in the title I can't seem to get any kind of response from my computer. I've reset CMOS through BIOS, with no success. Neither trying the new stick on its own nor with my old one works. My HDD light isn't blinking, I get no sounds to tell me if there is an issue with the POSTing, keyboard and mouse lights stay dark and can't even access bios. Sorry to add to the mass of threads on here about this problem but I can't find a solution that works on any of those. Help please!!

How do I go about updating my BIOS? Installed MSI's Live Update to see if that could help me and it offered to update to Click II when I've already got MSI's Click IV? Thanks for your response
