Hi Guys,

The power supply in my very old pc died and I'm looking for a new one. The thing is, the old one was 600W and it's quite expensive for this old pc. My mom uses it for Internet and emails, so I'm looking for a cheap one. My pc:

Q6600

GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L

G SKILL 4GB

ATI 6850

According to https://outervision.com/power-supply-calculator I need about 350W. Do you guys have any opinions?

Solution
that would be the next step. get/borrow a GPU for testing.
your testing the GPU and the PCIe slot. at this point both are suspect.

100W CPU + 125W GPU + maybe 40W for the balance = 265W absolute max load (which your mom won't be seeing if she's browsing the web).

300W would be fine, but you'll likely have to go a little higher to get some good quality PSUs. .

If you don;t mind mail-in-rebates, EVGA's 450B is a little under $30

As is a Corsair CX450M

If you just want a low price without rebates, the Antec VP450 would be a solid option for the uses

While I wouldn't normally recommend these PSUs (apart from the Corsair CX450M), for the low power usage, they'd be fine.

Thanks for the quick reply!

I don't live in The US, so the models here are a bit different, and more expensive :(
Here's a list based on your recommendations:

Corsair CX450M 450W PSU 80+ Bronze Modular - about 60$
SeaSonic 520W 80+ Bronze S12II-520 -75$
SeaSonic 430W 80+ Bronze S12II-430 - 60$
Corsair 450W 80+ VS450 - 60$

Yeah, I know. It's expensive.

I bought Corsair CX430.
I connected the motherboard, CPU, GPU, Harddrive, CD. The fans of the CPU, GPU and the case run, but the pc won't load. There is no peep. Did I missed something?
Should I connect these cables?

The pc boots. I can hear everything run and also Windows sound, but there is no picture on the monitor. I changed the power connector slot, and the DVI cable's slot- didn't help.
