Upgrading HP Envy desktop to 1070

Ok so I'm a complete noob when it comes to upgrading. I bought a decent HP gaming PC a few years because I didn't know how to build one. It's been fine, but the 760 that's installed is starting to get a bit long in the tooth. So I was thinking of making the jump to a 1070.

After doing some research I've seen some potential problems that could spring up (not enough power, bios being locked, motherboard not good enough, etc) but I'm not so good with figuring out if I'm at risk for any of these problems. So I thought I'd post here and hopefully someone can help me determine whether it's worth it before I make any hasty purchases.

So here's my specs and the model of my computer (minus the 128 GB SSD):
HP Envy Phoenix 810-209

So is the upgrade possible or will it require also upgrading the power source, motherboard, case, etc? Would love some guidance on how to proceed. Thanks.

You need to upgrade your power supply. Other than that gtx 1070 will not be bottlenecked that much by your i7 dude. It's a very good cpu even these days. I recommend getting the cheapest card you can find and also get one of these power supplies. :
