Would the CPU Cooler from my dell xps that had an i7 920 be better than the stock fan from i7-7700 ?

Also one of the case fan cables does not reach far can just use like some cable to extend it?

It probably is because the i7-920 had a much higher TDP. Extending the cable is easy; cut it and solder wires yourself.

How will you fit it to a socket 1151 motherboard?
