Hi,
So im getting parts for my first pc Build, but im mega stuck between what MB to get and decent 32gb of ram... I'd Love to get ether Trident Z RGB (G.SKILL F4-3600C17D-32GTZR) at 3600 mhz (even though don't think any mb will support the speed) or (G.SKILL F4-2400C15Q-32GTZR) running at 2400 Mhz as they look amazing.. i checked on gskills ramconfigurator and it the 32gb 2400 mhz works with some mbs but on the mb sites qlv dose not appear on their ram comability list... But if not what ram at 32GB of ram to get?

Thanks

Ok. Sounds like you want a 1600, 1600x or 1700 then. I have the 1600x, Taichi and 2x8GB of Flare-X. I would suggest you go for 2x16GB sticks of RAM at 3200, if you can afford it. I opted for a higher-end motherboard for the power management and long-term life as I want this to be my base for three to five years.

The Fortis RAM is going to be lesser spec/quality than the Flare-X or Trident Z. It is therefore, cheaper. Don't buy into the 'Ryzen and RAM suck' issues. They are largely eliminated but that will vary by motherboard manufacturer. Do your research and read reviews on boards and RAM and you'll find what you need to know.

It's about your budget, in the end. Buy the best stuff you can, even if that means waiting a little...

What are the uses/apps you are going to use that you think you want/need 32GB of RAM?

Budget? Plans to OC? Which CPU?

You want 2 sticks of RAM, not four as having four sticks will reduce the speed by a wide margin. Typically, 2 sticks of 8GB Flare-X or Trident Z at 3200 will be adequate and will work in most any board that I am aware of.

I have the Flare-X in a Taichi and it was at 3200 after one change in the bios on start-up.

Well i do music and theirs a software called Kontakt, which companies sample live instruments and it takes heavy amount of ram to run these libraries for kontakt. Also more ram i can work faster in after effects and of course rendering . 16 gb of ram isn't good enough for me i'm giving this pc im using to someone else so i want a new fresh build with ryzen. Money is not a problem i can just save up, i plan to overclock the cpu, but i don't know too much about building computers. i can see that most guys not having any problems with 8x2 of ram but don't know about 2x16 so im stuck on deciding what to get and i don't think the ones that are amd comparability has 2x16 of ram (Flare X and FORTIS). i wouldn't mind if the speed wouldn't matter for Ryzen but i hear Ryzen Loves faster ram speeds which gets more fps, better performance. i mostly play games aswel but i like to have better experience when making music as the computer i got now with 16gb of ram and the old I7 4790K and it lags when middle of making a song and rubbish at mutitasking
