Hello I am wondering if anyone can help me. I got 2 sticks of mushkin 996521 Ddr2 2gb Hp2-5300 Dual Pack 2x1gb Ram Memory
And I am using a g41t-dm rev a00 motherboard from dell
There are 2 ram slots
I read the specs and they say the motherboard can take a maximum of 4gb of unbuffered ddr2 memory at 800mhz which should be compatible with what I have

However when I turn the computer on the motherboard only detects 2gb of ram when there should be 4gb
I tried reseating the ram and I tried cleaning the slots and I ran a windows memory test and it passed
I am at a loss
Any help would be appreciated

System specs:

Intel core 2 quad q6600 @ 2.4ghz
4gb ddr2 ram
AMD Radeon R7 240 2gb
500gb hdd
Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit

I think you only have 2GB RAM

Per your description: " 2x1gb Ram". I.e., physically two 1GB sticks. Which would be only 2 GB total.

Very easy to read "2gb Hp2-5300 Dual Pack" into 4 GB. I.e., 2gb X "dual" and coming up with 4 GB.

Can be quite confusing and some sellers even seem to foster the confusion.
