So i have a fairly new pc two month or three old. And today it shuted down itself and after i tried to power it up it wouldn't. I tried unplugging and plugging the psu cable, it sounds as electirity is passing but no led lights are up on mobo and the fans won't even spin.

Cpu: i5 6400
Gpu: radeon rx480 8gb
Mobo: gigabyte h110m-ds2
Ram: hyperx fury 8gb (2x4gb)
Psu: corsair 550m bronze edition

I did today. I connected a friend's psu to my mobo but only the 24pin cable (not the 4 pin that goes next to the cpu cooler for time sensitive reasons) and the fans started spinning for like a second or so then stopping. After that it looped opening and closing. I only had the cpu and my 2 rams connected at that time. I tried connecting my psu to my friend's mobo and nothing happened. My friend's psu is 500 watts

So i did connect the cpu power cable but it kept turning on and off in a loop

Update: Ok I got it it seems. Turns out my psu and one stick of ram are fried due to a refridgerator power surge. I removed the ram that is fried and changed the psu to a reserve 450 watt and it started booting normaly. Thanks for your time.

Good job. Yes refrigerators and other machines with strong motors are very disruptive to power circuits. I always keep them on at least different fuse and possibly on different phase than rest of house wiring. Good ground to everything is also very important.
