If you are strict on your $170 the best card to get would be the 1050TI. There are a variety of cards to choose from but here is an example of one, actually the same exact one I have. https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-Geforce-G1Gaming-Graphic-GV-N105TWF2OC-4GD/dp/B01M6Y671T/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1498899562&sr=8-1&keywords=gigabyte+1050ti This can run pretty much any modern game at 1080p 60fps considering you have a fairly decent CPU

The 1060 or a 970 would also be a great choice but for a considerably higher price but would last a lot longer without needing to ugprade.
1050ti are on step below the 1060 3gb and 470/570
but considering the price, it's pretty alright, 1050 ti can handle AAA games on 1080p at med settings just fine
1060 3gb / 470 / 480 are beyond your target, but on rebate, they might go down just right about your budget
if u do want to step up a bit, don't go to 570, it's price is only slightly different to 480 but 480 gives much better performance
for RAM: Corsair, HyperX, G.Skill are the mainstream brand that people usually use

assuming you have a decent setup, best card for that money would be a rx 470/ rx 570
