One drive is faster than the other.

Hi!

Recently, I have found out that my D: drive is significantly slower than my C: drive. Over the recent weeks, I've had major problems with deleting files from the drive as there were permission errors. This resulted me to create a new account to delete the files from the drive. If I may say, this drive is probably not configured properly but, I'm no PC expert.

I am interested in learning about software development. For this, I installed Visual Studio Community Edition 2017 on my D: drive. When I opened it up, it slowed my whole system down, it wouldn't respond etc. I had to hold down the power button on my PC to restart it. I opened up task manager and the CPU level was normal, I defiantly know that this is a drive error. In order to prove confidence that this is a drive error, I installed Visual Studio Community Edition 2017 on my C: drive and it opened up in around 10 seconds with no drag. My D: drive needs fixing somehow, is there any tools that I can run to help improve speed or something?

Thanks,
Nathan.

I have attempted to defrag both drives but no improvements were made.

Okay, I've ran the SeaTool tester and it has come up with the following results:

S.M.A.R.T: Pass
Short DST: Pass
Short Generic: Pass

However, I am concerned with the Long Generic test. My C: drive will only take 20 minutes to do the scan and it has more files on it. The D: drive scan hasn't even done 1%. It says that it is stuck on 8 hours and 20 minutes left. This is certainly a problem. Any way to fix this?
