I just bought ryzen5 1600x a week ago and everytime I render video with sony vegas pro, my cpu usage goes randomly between 60% and 100% sometimes it hits 99% and even 100%. CPU usage when editing is usually 30 - 50%.
I use default settings from ryzen, not touching anything in the bios or overclocking. Can I do something to reduce the cpu usage to below 90% or it's safe to go with 99% cpu when rendering video?

There is nothing to do. Vegas is a CPU-intensive program, especially when rendering. That is completely normal. As long as it jumps by down after the render is complete, you are good my friend. Take advantage of those six cores.

Just out of curiosity, what are you render times?

I just used some effects from sapphire plugin as transitions and twixtor to slowmo the clips. No magic bullet looks or any color grading.

I am somewhat relieved too... it must be the movie studio doing that... I just watched a video of a guy saying his zen CPU was only rendering with like 60 percent usage... I just did a 25 minute video and it was just about 100 percent usage the entire time on my 1700x I was still able to stream videos without issue and surf the web though.
