First off I'll list my specs:
MSI z270 M7 motherboard
Intel i7 7700k CPU
MSI GTX 1080 GPU
Corsair H100i v2 closed loop liquid cooler
256gb SSD (can't remember what manufacturer)
WD Red 2TB HHD
4x G.Skill 16gb Ripjaws RAM (64gb in total)
RM850X power supply

Ok, I built this rig myself about 2 weeks ago and all was well for a while. Then, disaster struck, while in the middle of a game my PC suddenly and immediately lost power. I quickly began troubleshooting and found it to be a power issue related to the 24 pin power connector. I discovered this by wiggling the connector to notice the motherboard gaining and loosing power as I did. So I inserted the connector as firmly as I could and order a new cable online. When the cables arrived, however, I connected them to discover that I have the same issue.

I believe that the 24 pin port on the motherboard itself is bad and causing this issue. Does anyone out there have any suggestions on what I should do here? I could RMA the board, but that could take months to get another board back and I'll be without a PC that whole time. I also do not have the box or the black plastic piece they put over the CPU slot and I've heard of them rejecting RMA's for missing those.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank You for your time.
