multiple windows open wanting different volumes on different screens

in windows xp you could click the speaker icon and adjust the volume on different screens/windows to adjust focus on what you wanted in the foreground and what you wanted in the back ground.

now that im using windows 10 im having issues with volume levels. i have a video game i play and would like that to be much quieter than it is, and would also like to stream music at a louder volume. currently to actually be able to hear the music my video game must be SCREAMING loud. is there a way to adjust the audio streams independently?

asus 990FX revision 2.0
running default audio from the motherboard

So thanks to the help of no one I figured out that you can actually right click the speaker icon on your taskbar and open up the audio mixer and set each individual window at a different volume

You can't adjust the volume in game? There should be a slider for the audio volume in the game itself. I love playing the racing game Blur while blasting my music. I have the game sound effects as normal, but I slid the game music volume down to off. Now when I play I can hear my music, barely hear the warning that I'm above to get hit, and don't hear the bad music at all.

there is, except it doesnt take effect until you're completely logged into the game. it takes a few minutes to get logged in. in that time its still screeching loud until then. there are various other applications i would like to be able to adjust independently as well. any solutions?
